more love is ok

I started creating my signature hearts designs after the Boston Marathon bombing in 2013 as a way to process the tragedy and to heal. When something that bad happens, you can get lost easily, and I decided that that was not okay. At that moment, I focused on the things that are okay and started creating small stickers with the message and heart symbols as reminders, and little by little, the hearts started to grow.

I always include hearts in my paintings, public art, and community workshops, with an implicit call for unity and understanding. I encourage building community, celebrating diversity, and positivity.

I also get inspired by people a lot, people who are doing good things, not just for themselves, but for others. I see it everywhere, even when I go to a retail store or a convenience store around the neighborhood; you see a lot of people doing good things.

Let’s create projects that bring people together, and are better for the world.

Positive thinking equal positive actions.
